A lifelong Hoosier, Jim Schellinger was raised the sixth of eight children in one of South Bend's working-class neighborhoods. His father was a quality control engineer at Bendix Corporation while his mother stayed home and cared for the family.

Following in his brothers' footsteps, Jim played football at St. Joseph's High School (they all wore No. 50). After graduation, he attended Notre Dame where he worked nights and summers at Capitol Tool and Die to pay for his education. Jim graduated with a degree in architecture.

Jim's plan also includes election and ethics initiatives, increased public access to government and more accountability for lobbyists at the Statehouse.

Jim's "Pick Up Indiana" Plan is a comprehensive proposal that addresses the issues that matter most to Hoosier working families -- jobs, education, health care and government reform. After spending more than a year traveling the state and listening to Hoosiers, Jim is the only candidate in this race to put forth detailed, actionable ideas that will move all of Indiana forward.
